Network PDF Server Appliance
The PDF Server YAFPC-Appliance is a browser based management frontend for the PDF-Composer/Printer/Mailer YAFPC. It's coming with the General-Purpose Appliance System GPAS on a bootable CD in combination with an easy to use installation script. Once automatically installed, any PC booted from this image can act as a PDF-Printserver which provides an unlimited number of network shared virtual PDF-Printers. The system requirements are low, any older PC can be used. System configuration can be done via a Web browser from any workstation in Your network. Virtual shared PDF Printers can be configured to apply letterheads, watermarks, cover pages and appendixes to all printed documents. After printing a document is sent to its owner by mail, can be accessed in a shared folder on the PDF Server or can be stored to a shared network folder on some other machine. Deployment is very simple:
Download the image -- burn it -- run the installation -- configure the PDF Printers -- and print.
Network Monitor N-View
N-View is a network monitor for small and medium-sized networks. It features automatic scanning of subnets for host addresses, monitoring of ICMP responses from all hosts, signalling of timeouts and delays in the GUI and by mail, a portscanner, an SNMP client (MIB browser and trap receiver), a graphical display of network traffic for network interfaces, connectivity to hosts by telnet, HTTP browser, or an arbitrary external program (such as ssh), printing of network diagrams, automatic generation of HTML pages, and more.
N-View is a Java based Network Monitor and can be deployed on all Java supporting platforms.
Yet Another Free PDF Composer (YAFPC)
YAFPC (Yet Another Free PDF-composer) can compose PDF documents from picture files and other PDF files, encrypt the created document and send it to some e-mail address. YAFPC is aimed to act as command-line tool in combination with GhostScript for providing a network shared PDF-printer, which automatically adds letterheads, company-logos, watermark and Terms & Condition-pages to the printed documents, and then mails the document to the user, who initiated the print job. It has a graphical user interface (GUI) for easy configuration and testing. Easy to use sample scripts for setting up a PDF-printer on Windows or Linux servers are included in the download archive.
YAFPC is pure Java and can be deployed on all operating systems, which are supported by a Java Runtime Environment (JRE).
General Purpose Appliance System (GPAS)
The General-Purpose Appliance System was made as a basic Linux Live Operating System ready to build software appliances on it. It comes on a bootable Linux Live CD based on SLAX Frodo Edition (http://www.slax.org) along with a couple of additional software components often needed by such appliances.
