Changes:

  • Some minor bugfixes and changes in file locations to fit the Filesystem Hierarchy Standard.
  • Environment variables like username or hostname are requested by a posix compliant system call now.
  • The uinput driver module is now loaded on-the-fly when needed.
  • Since 0.13 binaries are not statically linked against proprietary driver libraries any more but can make use of those libraries as plugins if they are installed.

    If you are a developer of one of the projects not working with Fingerprint GUI or have special knowledge that can help to fix one of the bugs, you are invited to contact me.

    If you have tested the project on a system not listed below, please send me a note about your results. If it works we can add your system to the list. If not, we can add your problem to the list of known issues and try to fix it.

    Tested environments:

    Ubuntu 8.04, 8.10, 9.04, 9.10, 10.04 (32bit and 64bit) with GDM, Kubuntu 10.04 with KDM, Lubuntu 10.04 with GDM, Fedora 10 and 12 (32bit) with GDM.

    Tested devices:

    Built-In UPEK Fingerprint Reader (Vendor 483, Device 2016).

    Standalone device with AuthenTec AES2501A (Vendor 8FF, Device 2580).
